P.G. Diploma in power plant engineering is a diploma level power engineering course. It deals with the field of science & technology and covers the main subjects Thermal Power engineering. This program is designed to provide a sound & indepth training in various aspects of Design, Manufacturing, Testing, Control, operation & maintenance and Evaluation of power plant engineering as per the gazette of India. None of the personnel are entitled to work on energy establishment above 100 MW unless they are trained. Thermal power plant has an increasingly dominant role to play in vital power sector. The main aim of the courses is to create a pool of technically trained manpower for recruitment to the State, Central and Private Power Utilities; allied Industries & Services.

About The Course:

Duration of the course is one year consisting of two semesters covering formal training at Institutes and on job industrial/field training. Course Details are given in prospectus. The courses cover the syllabus as per Gazette of Gov of India.

PGD Course	Eligibility
Power Plant Engineering	B.Tech. / B.E. or its equivalent in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic & Instrumentation Engineering

Engineering Student appearing in final year examination can apply.

Selection Criteria For Admission:

CET Conducted by GPTI:

Duration of the test shall be 1 hour consisting two paper (each of 30 multiple choice questions).

Paper-I: Aptitude Test (Common for all candidates)

Paper-II: Engineering Test shall consist two groups

E.T.-I: For the candidates of Mechanical Engineering disciplines.

E.T.-II: For the candidates of Electrical, Electronic & instrumentation Engineering disciplines.

CET Charges: Rs 100
